REPRESENTATION
In this image, we can recognize that there are two objects which is a dollar bill and a keyboard. However, if you look closely, the dollar bill is next to the question mark key. This photograph represents the question of the value of a dollar in business. It carries a large amount of detail because it focuses on that specific key and dollar sign, blurring out everything else that surrounds it. Although this picture is easily seen, this visual image is intensely subject to the individual's interpretation of it.
Dondis mentioned that "abstraction, visually, is more of the simplication toward a more intence and distilled meaning". This visual image uses abstraction toward symbolism with meaning attached to it. This image portrays a scenery that uses very limited amount of details so that the viewer can see the structural level of this image. In other words, this image has been stripped down to minimal amount of representation. The image is trying to target the viewer's attention to the simplicity of a sunset scenery. The stems with the cubes on top of it sumbolizes trees with the branches being signified by the blue branches with the leaf. The rainbow looking object in the background symbolizes the sunset setting in the afternoon with the clouds above it. The colors with these objects help determine what symbolizes what.
This visual image denotes the society we live in today. Many people have seen an evolution photo of how man developed from apes. This is a humorous photo of how man, or people in general, evolved from the beginning as apes,then became a man, and finally resulted to evolve into pigs. The viewer can see how the evolution occurred and then developed into what most people view as men. The third person is holding a gun which probably means that he served as a soldier for our country and is well fitted. Before the evolution from man to pig, it shows a fat man holding a McDonald's bag and drink. This man is a symbol of how today's society is eating too much fast food, developing an unhealthy diet, not exercising and becoming lazy. People prefer to eat out more than making dinner at home.
